Avatar : The Way of Water (Movie Review)

Avatar : The Way of Water (Movie Review)

Well, first things first... Have you seen Avatar-1 ....

Yes, then go right ahead and watch this sequel...

No, then you need to prep yourself by some homework before you watch this one...

To cite a few,

Read about Alpha Centauri Star System,

Read about Pandora,

Read about Polyphenus,

Read about the fictional universe of Pandora,

Read about Pandora Biosphere,

Read about Na'vi,

Read about humanoids...

I had not watched the original, but had to go for this one under immense pressure from children... and so I thought of reading about Avatar-1 to atleast understand the movie and not fall asleep. I ended up reading all of the above in the afternoon.

There are Wikipedia links available for all of these, so not much of an effort.

Then get ready to be transported into a captivating world.... The 3D effects,  graphics and VFX are stunning and will just blow you apart...

Creation of Omaticaya Forest Clan,  Metkayina Sea Clan, Tulkun Cetacean Species and a complete marine ecosystem needs an imagination of different level. Perhaps that's why the movie took 12 years to hit the theatres after it was announced in, apparently, 2010.

Photography, background score, production design and performances are of a very high standard. Whatever be the central theme though, the storyline is definitely weak for a movie which runs more than three hours. But then so be it,,, go watch it purely for an exhilarating cinematic experience.

PS: I read somewhere that James Cameroon had written *Avatar* in early 1990s, but at that time the necessary technology was not available to achieve his vision of the film, and so it was filmed in 2005-09... Talk about thinking ahead of the times.
